Launch; Well wishes by VT Mel Gibson/Pierce Brosnan, followed by outdoor movie. *Great Outdoors; Outdoor screening of films and visual art throughout the festival * Running Beast by Donál O Kelly in Trim Castle, a music-theatre piece based on Hugh O’Neill, Earl of Tyrone (1550-1616). * Fozen Music ll (Ember Productions) performed by Geraldine Plunkett and cellist Geaspar Warfield is a theatrical triptych incorporating; Eavan Boland’s The Lost Land (poem adaptation), Samuel Beckett’s Company (adaptation) and Nuala Ní Dhomhnaill’s Máthair/Mother in Trim Castle. * Spirits; an event performed by various artists where the art of story telling is explored with young audiences as a way of communicating folklore, for example Celtic folklore and other mythical beliefs relevant to the harvest and Halloween. * Crux; Trim Castle is the beautifully austere setting for a presentation of Ireland’s foremost choral groups Crux. This contemporary and theatrically costumed group are performing a selection of enchanting medieval & renaissance music by candle light. *Mask Making: Workshops suitable for schools (different ages) *Landscape / Theatre; a large community led project directed by Ric Jerrome, an international comic Theatre practitioner and associate of The Natural Theatre Company (U.K.). Masquerade Ball; Exclusive Venetian’esque masked ball event in Knightsbrook Hotel
